Aman El Profesor Añejo is a tribute bottle with a genuine story behind it. The expression commemorates the founder’s fifteen years of educational public service, and the brand dedicates it to the people it describes as pillars of change, hope, strength, resilience and pride. That intent shows in the presentation. El Profesor is the only rose gold gradient metalized tequila bottle on the market, a sculptural towering form in slender, pointed agave shapes, with contemporary interpretations of the coa, the traditional agave harvesting tool, worked into the back of the bottle. The metallic gradient reveals the liquid through the wide side of the glass, and it arrives in its own presentation box. The tequila inside is made from 100% Blue Weber agave in Jalisco under master distiller Hector Dávalos, who comes from a tequila family: his father worked at Tequila El Viejito from 1969 for twenty five years and later partnered with the master distiller behind Patrón, and Hector spent childhood summers learning the craft in tequila factories. For El Profesor, very ripe and carefully selected agaves are used, and the spirit is aged a minimum of twelve months in French oak and American oak barrels. It pours a rich amber. The nose is warm and inviting, with oak, sweet vanilla and caramel alongside toasted nuts. The palate shows light sweetness and a strong presence of agave, layering brown sugar, vanilla and butterscotch with pine nut, chocolate and toasted almond, plus a touch of cinnamon and dried fruit. The finish is silky and long, ending on a notably fruity note. It took Gold at both the 2022 London Spirits Competition and the 2022 Melbourne International Beverage Competition. Best served neat, over ice, or in a tequila Old Fashioned.
